The masterplan and statutory plan for HaEmek Medical Center provide a long-term framework for the hospital’s development through 2050, responding to projected population growth and the ageing of the region’s population. The plan doubles inpatient capacity, expands the hospital’s core medical services, and introduces new facilities for geriatrics, rehabilitation and mental health.

At the heart of the plan is a green pedestrian axis that gives the campus a clearer, more intuitive structure for patients, visitors, clinical staff and operational teams, while connecting along it all the hospital’s main buildings. This landscaped, shaded space also creates a welcoming setting for rest, movement and informal gathering. The medical core is anchored by a new central building housing a bomb proof emergency unit and operating theatres, as part of a flexible and phased development strategy that also upgrades infrastructure and strengthens accessibility across the campus.
