Sultan’s Pool is part of the Jerusalem Walls Park that hosts performances in the open-air theater. 

The park is designed with the natural topography of the site with a built permanent open-air theater that descends from Mitchell Garden toward the Hinnom Valley.

 The theater building is integrated into the natural slope of the landscape and constructed as a concrete structure on columns, elevated from the natural ground in order to preserve the antiquities, allow for ongoing excavations, and visitor access. All part of the Visitors experience  in the park - both the present and the past – the visible world and the hidden world.

Next to the southern Ottoman dam wall, the water pools for which the site is named – Sultan’s Pool – are restored.
These pools, which likely served as water reservoirs during the Second Temple period and as irrigation and bathing pools in the Ottoman period, will be complemented as part of the natural performance space with a grove of trees typical to the geographical region.

This design enables continuous north-to-south movement, provides points of interest and places to linger along the route, and transforms the site into a functional public park year-round, becoming an integral part of the Jerusalem Walls Park.
